IT Director

Development of overall IT strategy document in line with hospital’s business objectives and taking into consideration the emerging trends/standards in the healthcare IT industry.
Development of annual IT implementation plans and budgets and their approval by the Management.
Responsible for efficient execution (selection and implementation) of the IT plan in terms of introduction of new/additional networking, hardware systems, office software and application software.
Motivate and lead highly trained professionals in a manner which ensures acceptance by the end users of the proposed changes and enhancements to Information Systems.

Review and monitor performance of each of the IT staff against specified job goals and description and plan for their training.

Liaisoning with the Departments for all aspects of additional requirements, review of system usage and performance.

Liaisoning, negotiating and documentation with IT solution suppliers for all problems, additional system resources and requirements.

Monitoring delivery, installation, commissioning and release of any additional software enhancements to the users.

Setting up procedures and reporting protocols/formats for the application user support help desk, and monitoring the turn-around time for problems reported.

Planning of appropriate resources, training requirements and roles of team members at each of the various stages of implementation of IT solutions.

Monitoring the disaster recovery procedures for various applications against CPU, Disk, database, etc., crashes.

Set up procedures for periodic performance monitoring, reorganization and other house-keeping procedures.

Review and develop effective operations logs for operator-related activities and monitor exception situations.

Review and develop documentation forms and procedures for other system security related issues like access to hardware, application softwares, etc.

Develop duty rosters for operators for effective 24 hours support.

Keep well conversant with the current trends in IT industry especially emerging networking/communication protocols, IT/Telecom standards, usage of internet for enhanced business performance, open systems standards in hardware, operating systems (UNIX, Windows NT, etc.), relational and object oriented databases, applications development environment, etc.
